Our Mission & Programs

Our Mission

Our mission is to protect national forests and promote environmental ethics.

Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics (FSEEE) brings together civil servants, concerned citizens, and community advocates to elevate responsible public land stewardship.

Our national forests are a shared trust. By championing sound management, we work toward a future in which healthy forests support thriving communities and resilient ecosystems.

FSEEE Program Areas

  • Public Education: We inform the public about national forest issues and needed reforms through our publications, including Forest News, investigative reports, and educational materials. We also host events and speaking engagements to connect communities with the latest science, policy, and on-the-ground stories.
  • Accountability and Advocacy: We monitor national forest management, highlight both failures and successes, and promote policy reforms that benefit ecosystems and communities. We help connect reform-minded voices inside and outside government to strengthen public oversight and engagement.
  • Protecting Integrity and Ethics: We support public employees who face retaliation for speaking up on behalf of the public interest. FSEEE offers guidance, referrals, and visibility to ensure ethical stewardship of our national forests.

FSEEE Program Objectives

  • Put ecosystem integrity first. Shift agency targets away from commodity outputs and toward long-term ecological health.
  • Protect the public’s right to know. Public employees have a responsibility to keep the people they serve informed about policies, practices, and decisions on public lands.
  • Champion large connected landscapes. Safeguard intact ecosystems and natural disturbance cycles as guides for restoration, biodiversity, and resilience.
  • Foster a culture of stewardship. Encourage ethical land management across agencies, communities, and elected leadership.

FSEEE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting our national forests and the public trust they represent.
