Dave Iverson
President
Dave retired from the Forest Service in 2007 after nearly thirty years crusading for better forest policy and practice. During his Forest Service career, Dave served as Regional Economist and Social Science Coordinator in the Intermountain Region. Earlier he served as Operations Research Analyst. His social science practice was concerned mainly with a study of people and power in organizations. He emphasized management and leadership over, for example, cost-benefit analysis and "optimization" in any form. He believes in the science of "muddling through." That is, the best we can do in public lands management is to thoughtfully accommodate and regulate use while trying to sustain physical and biological systems, and to preserve Nature in as many forms as possible.
Dave has been on FSEEE's board since its inception.
